About the Role
Our client is a St. Paulbased third-party logistics (3PL) provider specializing in truckload (TL) freight coordination, store installations, and end-to-end supply chain support. Operating in the fast-paced transportation and logistics industry, they manage pickups, deliveries, and special project installations for a wide network of carriers, agents, customers, and installers.
On behalf of our client, we are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented On Call Logistics Coordinator to help keep freight moving around the clock. This is a unique role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys problem-solving, and values the flexibility of working from home after an initial in-office training period. Training will be conducted onsite, after which the position transitions to a fully remote schedule. Job Description
The On Call Logistics Coordinator serves as a central point of contact for after-hours freight operations, ensuring shipments are tracked, carriers are supported, and issues are resolved quickly. Because volume shifts daily with seasonal fluctuations, no two shifts look exactly alike. Responsibilities span three general phases of the shift:
Business Hours (approx. 10:00 AM 5:00 PM)

• Assist in tracking truckload (TL) pickups and deliveries.
• Complete daily check calls to confirm shipment status.
• Includes a one-hour lunch break.

After Business Hours (approx. 5:00 PM 10:00/11:00 PM)

• Remain at home with computer access to monitor orders and field incoming calls.
• Track after-hours TL pickups and deliveries, confirming with carriers when freight is loaded/unloaded.
• Support after-hours store installations for special project teams, coordinating with agents and installers.
• Check in with agents and installers to confirm drivers are onsite.
• Answer incoming calls to the after-hours line and assist carriers, agents, customers, and installers with any questions or issues.
• Monitor the after-hours email inbox.
• Normal evening activities are permitted between scheduled check-ins and calls.

On Call / Overnight (approx. 10:00/11:00 PM 6:00 AM)

• Remain available to answer any incoming calls throughout the night.
• Sleep is permitted; overnight calls are rare (typically 12 every couple of weeks).
• Email monitoring is not required during this window.

Schedule:

• Wednesday 2:00 PM 6:00 AM Thursday
• Thursday 10:00 AM 6:00 AM Friday
• Friday 10:00 AM 10:00 PM Saturday
• Off Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with a half day on Wednesday

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Ability to complete in-office training before transitioning to a fully remote schedule.
• Reliable home workspace with computer and internet access for after-hours and overnight monitoring.
• Availability to work the set overnight/on-call schedule, including staying reachable throughout assigned shifts.
• Strong communication and customer service skills for interacting with carriers, agents, customers, and installers.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through on tracking pickups, deliveries, and check calls.
• Comfortable adapting to daily and seasonal volume fluctuations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or a 3PL environment.
• Familiarity with truckload (TL) shipment tracking and carrier coordination.
• Experience handling after-hours dispatch, on-call support, or a similar coordination role.
• Working knowledge of logistics or transportation management systems (TMS).
