Braun Melsungen AG, Hospital Care Division, we are looking for a Senior R&D Manager (m/f/d) for the development of single-use medical devices made of plastic for infusion therapy in the Research & Development department of the Center of Excellence Infusion & Pain Therapy as soon as possible. In the Research & Development (R&D) department of the Center of Excellence Infusion & Pain Therapy, around 120 employees are engaged in developing new innovative product and application ideas and their implementation in the market. As a Senior R&D Manager (m/f/d) in the Product Portfolio Development Team Pain Therapy, you will develop medical devices for pain therapy and manage them throughout the entire product lifecycle. The goal is to continuously improve, expand, and enhance the product portfolio with new technologies. This is done in close collaboration with our stakeholders in product management, process engineering, production, and other internal and external parties involved. Tasks: You will be responsible for and lead strategic development projects to increase the profitability of B. Braun's core product portfolios. You will support and optimize the product portfolio through improvements, additions, the use of new technologies, and cost reduction in manufacturing. You will lead interdisciplinary and internationally staffed project teams. You will monitor patents and the market environment. You will be responsible for planning and conducting application observations and usability studies. You will perform lifecycle management, which means creating and maintaining development documentation, particularly in accordance with ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820. You will conduct technical analyses of new product ideas, product applications, and manufacturing processes. Professional Qualifications: You have successfully completed a technical or scientific master's degree in medical technology, medical engineering, plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a comparable field. You have extensive professional experience in product development, ideally in medical technology or another highly regulated environment, as well as in project management. You have proven experience in bringing newly developed products into industrial production and to market. You possess expertise in processing methods for metals and polymers, such as injection molding, extrusion, or ultrasonic welding. Basic knowledge in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, or biology is also desirable and helps you understand the needs and requirements of medical professionals and patients. You are proficient in using MS Office. Your profile is rounded off by very good German and English skills; additional language skills, such as Japanese, are an advantage. Personal Qualifications: You have a positive attitude, as well as the motivation and drive to bring open issues to a conclusion. You work proactively, structured, and goal-oriented, and you maintain an overview even when dealing with complex topics and projects. You think analytically and conceptually and have strong problem-solving skills. You have strong communication skills (including presentations) and the ability to communicate complex topics within multidisciplinary teams. You are creative, curious, and enjoy working with new topics and technologies. You work constructively and show empathy; intercultural skills are also an advantage.
