About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - ICU experience - Ability to float to various units - Patient ratio experience of 1:4-5 Description: Must have ICU experience and be willing to float to ICU. Floating is required across stepdown, ICU, and medical-surgical units. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required. NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required. The patient ratio is 1:4-5. Travel experience is preferred. Scrubs must be royal blue and white. Floating across different units will occur. The unit has 21 beds for patients. Non-titrating drips are utilized. Common medications include Amiodarone, NTG, Cardizem, Lopressor, and Cardene. Experience with various patient conditions such as CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, and pneumonia is beneficial. Care may include managing stable BiPAP, heated high flow therapy, and home ventilators. Wound care and nebulizer therapy are also part of the responsibilities. Experience with dialysis, both hemodialysis and peritoneal, is required. Candidates should be comfortable managing various medical devices such as central lines and PICC lines. Expectations include working on holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. High patient care ratios and floating within the facility is expected. Compliance with floating policies will be required. Candidates should possess skills in telemetry and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. References may be requested during compliance.
