The QXO Summer Internship Program is a 12-week, structured development experience designed to give students meaningful, hands-on exposure to a fast-paced, results-driven organization while building the skills and experience needed to launch their careers. Interns contribute to meaningful business initiatives, work alongside experienced QXO professionals, and gain firsthand insight into how their role and team support QXO's broader business and operational goals. 

Throughout the program, interns receive defined objectives , dedicated mentorship, regular feedback, professional development, networking opportunities, and complete a final project that culminates in a presentation to QXO leaders, allowing them to showcase their experience, insights, and recommendations.

Branch Operations interns are embedded within QXO branch locations across the United States and gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operations of our business. Opportunities are available across Roofing, Lumber and Building Materials (LBM), and Insulation & Installation (I&I). Interns will learn how our branches serve customers, manage operations, drive sales, and execute against business priorities while working directly with local leaders and team members.

Every internship is designed to provide meaningful work, exposure to the business, and opportunities to build professional and functional skills. Specific responsibilities will vary based on internship pathway , function , and location.

As a QXO Summer Intern, you will:

• Contribute to meaningful projects and day-to-day business priorities within your assigned branch.

• Gain hands-on exposure to branch operations, including sales, customer service, inventory, logistics , and other core business activities.

• Work alongside QXO leaders and team members to understand our customers, products, markets, and business priorities.

• Take ownership of assigned work and use data and business insights to solve problems, improve processes, and support branch performance.

• Participate in team meetings and cross-functional activities to understand how branch operations connect to the broader QXO business.

• Support initiatives focused on sales growth, customer engagement, operational efficiency, inventory management, and process improvement.

• Build relationships with fellow interns, mentors, leaders, and colleagues while developing your business, communication, and leadership skills.

• Seek and apply feedback throughout the program to strengthen your performance and professional capabilities.

• Complete a final internship project addressing a relevant business opportunity or challenge and present your insights and recommendations to QXO leaders.

• Currently p ursuing a bachelor's from an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation dat e of Winter 2027 or Spring/Summ er 2028 that al igns with the requirements of the internship opportunity.

• Academic focus relevant to the assigned internship or demonstrated interest in the applicable business area.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with team members, leaders, customers, and other stakeholders.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with curiosity and a willingness to ask questions, evaluate information, and develop solutions.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

• Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced business environment.

• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional teams. 

• Interest in gaining hands-on business experience and learning more about career opportunities at QXO.

• Ability to work full-time for the duration of the 12- week summer internship program.

• C andidates should be comfortable working in a branch environment and engaging directly with branch team members, leaders, and customers as appropriate for their assignment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internship, co-op, part-time work, leadership, volunteer, or relevant academic project experience.

• Demonstrated leadership through student organizations, athletics, community involvement, employment, or other extracurricular activities.

• Experience using Microsoft Office or similar business productivity tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

• Exposure to data analysis, business systems, technology, or other tools relevant to the assigned internship.

• Strong customer-focused mindset and interest in understanding how individual roles and functions contribute to business performance.

• Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and interest in continuous improvement.

• Ability to adapt quickly, seek feedback, and contribute effectively in a dynamic and evolving organization.

• Interest in exploring future career opportunities with QXO following graduation.
