Seeking: Voter Registration & Customer Service Specialist

Location: Downtown Houston, TX
Pay: $22.00–$25.00 per hour (based on education and experience) | Weekly Pay
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Shifts between 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Overtime: Weekends and overtime available based on project needs
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary (6–8 weeks with potential extension up to 39 weeks)

Openwork is hiring Voter Registration & Customer Service Specialists to support the Harris County Tax Office during the upcoming election season. If you enjoy helping others, have strong administrative and customer service skills, and pay close attention to detail, this is a rewarding opportunity to support an important public service while gaining valuable professional experience.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Research and update voter registration records using multiple databases and public records.
• Verify and cross-reference voter information to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Answer high-volume inbound calls regarding voter registration and application status.
• Process voter registration applications, address updates, and related records.
• Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for data entry, tracking, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate records while following county confidentiality and security guidelines.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to the public.

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or GED required (Bachelor's degree preferred for advanced research roles paying up to $25.00 per hour).
• At least 1 year of professional customer service or administrative experience.
• Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM (testing required).
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Professional communication and customer service abilities.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese is a strong plus.
