Buyer/Planner

We are seeking a hybrid Buyer/Planner to support a fast-paced manufacturing site. This role is evenly split between purchasing execution and production planning analysis, requiring someone who can both manage high-volume purchase orders and interpret planning data (MPS and reports) to support production needs.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility role working closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams during an active operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing Execution (50%)

• Process and manage 30–50 purchase orders per week
• Execute purchasing activities based on pre-negotiated pricing (no vendor negotiation required)
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve order, delivery, or material issues
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and tracking in Excel and internal systems

Planning & Analysis (50%)

• Read, interpret, and act on Master Production Schedule (MPS)
• Analyze data from SSRS reports (200+ reports) and Excel files
• Translate demand signals into purchasing actions and material requirements
• Support production scheduling and materials alignment
• Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or gaps

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with:
  • Materials Manager
  • Planning Team (supporting molding operations)
  • Customer Service Representative (Rosa)
  • Site Manager (Parker McMilliam)
• Assist in supporting production across multiple product lines (M, W, R Series, Fuse)

Tools & Systems

• Heavy use of:
  • Excel
  • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• Work within a manual / non-ERP environment (data stored in OneDrive)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain
• Experience working with MPS (Master Production Schedule) or MRP systems
• High-volume purchase order environments
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret reports and data
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis preferred)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, less structured environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $40.86/hr.
