Construction Controller | $120K–$150K
Hartford CT area
A well-established commercial construction contractor is looking for an experienced Construction Controller to take ownership of its accounting and finance function.
This is an opportunity to step into a key financial leadership position with a company generating approximately $9M–$15M annually and employing roughly 40 people.
The company's longtime Controller is leaving after 16 years , but will remain available during a transition period to help the incoming Controller get fully acclimated to the business.
What You'll OwnMonthly financial reporting and close
WIP schedules and revenue recognition
Job costing and project profitability
Cash-flow forecasting
Budgeting and financial planning
AP/AR oversight
Banking relationships
Internal controls and accounting processes
Coordination with outside CPA firms
Financial reporting and analysis for ownership and project management
The ideal candidate is currently a Controller or Assistant Controller within construction and has experience independently managing a company's accounting and finance function.
Key experience includes:
Construction accounting
WIP reporting
Job costing
Cash-flow forecasting
Budgeting
Construction financial reporting
ERP/accounting systems
Working directly with ownership
Experience with a commercial subcontractor or specialty contractor is highly preferred.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required , and CPA or CPA-track candidates are preferred.
Compensation$120,000–$150,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction accounting professional who wants to move beyond transactional accounting and become a true financial partner to company ownership.
