Appointment at the Assistant Professor rank is anticipated; a higher rank may be considered depending on qualifications. Key Responsibilities Teaching (50%): Creative contribution to undergraduate and graduate courses in geology, marine geology, and related specialties; mentoring students. Research/Scholarship (40%): Conduct field‑based interdisciplinary research in active tectonics; develop a high‑impact, sustained research program, secure external funding, and publish in top journals. Service (10%): Engage in college‑ and university‑wide diversity, equity, inclusion initiatives; service to professional societies. Qualifications Doctoral degree in Geology or cognate field. Commitment to equity, inclusive excellence in education, research, and outreach. Record of high‑quality, independent scientific research in active tectonics and earthquake geology. Record of teaching excellence and commitment to student success. Record of mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Externally funded research program of high impact.
