Lang Constructors is a Michigan-based general contractor performing commercial and federal construction work throughout the Midwest and Southeast. The majority of our work is federal, with projects ranging from renovations and facility improvements to multi-million-dollar construction projects.

With several significant projects ahead, we are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to our team. We are looking for someone who knows how to run a project, keep it on schedule, stay ahead of problems and take ownership from turnover through final closeout.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Manage all aspects of assigned construction projects from turnover through final closeout
• Work closely with the Superintendent to plan, schedule and execute the work
• Review drawings, specifications, contracts and scopes of work
• Manage subcontractor and supplier buyout
• Develop, maintain and actively manage project schedules to keep projects on track
• Manage RFIs, submittals and change orders
• Track project costs, commitments and projected costs to complete
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices
• Prepare pencil AIA billings for owner invoicing
• Communicate with owners, subcontractors, architects and engineers
• Lead project meetings and maintain required project documentation
• Anticipate issues that could affect schedule or cost and address them before they impact the project
• Manage final completion and closeout, including punch lists, required documentation and financial closeout

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience, with demonstrated success managing projects as a Project Manager
• Proven ability to manage project schedules, costs and subcontractors and keep projects on track
• Strong working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and contracts
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, field staff and the project team
• Organized, proactive and able to identify and resolve problems before they impact the project
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project required
• Willingness to travel for project assignments
• Valid driver's license

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field is preferred, but relevant construction experience will also be considered.

Travel

This position requires travel for some project assignments. Lang provides travel accommodations and additional travel benefits for qualifying out-of-state assignments. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
