Senior Cyber Compliance Support Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and support cybersecurity compliance initiatives across IT and network systems.
• Conduct or participate in compliance inspections, audits, and assessments.
• Track and manage information assurance vulnerabilities and associated mitigation efforts.
• Ensure cybersecurity system reporting is accurate and up to date.
• Ensure systems are secured per applicable Security Technical Implementation Guides.
• Ensure Host-Based Security System software is installed, operating, and updated according to cybersecurity processes and requirements.
• Assess Windows, Linux, and other system vulnerabilities, providing guidance on risk remediation.
• Support the DoW Assessment & Authorization process, including preparation of documentation for RMF, accreditations, certifications, and approvals.
• Support data collection, aggregation, and reporting for internal organizations and external agencies.
• Develop, generate, maintain, and contribute to documentation, procedures, and instructions for managed systems.
• Review and provide feedback on DoW information assurance documents, orders, and instructions.
• Prepare clear, actionable reports and briefings for leadership on cybersecurity posture, risks, and remediation plans.
• Communicate, collaborate, and participate with audits, auditors, and program reviewers to facilitate compliance and issue resolution.
• Provide support and applicable data for emergency response plan testing and execution.
• Mentor and guide junior personnel, sharing best practices in compliance and information assurance.
• Support mission needs, which may include travel to other DoW or contractor facilities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT security, cybersecurity compliance, and DoW cybersecurity standards.

• Must meet certification requirements per DoW 8570.01M IAM Level III (or equivalent).

• Experience conducting or participating in Navy or DoW compliance inspections.

• 6-10 years of cybersecurity experience.

• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and other system vulnerabilities, risk management, and incident reporting.

• Knowledge of DoW, Navy, or MSC C4S standards, policies, and operational procedures.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Ability to interpret DoW cybersecurity policies and regulations and apply them in operational environments.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• U.S. citizenship required.

• Active Secret clearance required (must be maintained).

Certifications: At least one of the following certifications is required:

• CISSP
• CISM

This role may include travel to other DoW or contractor facilities in support of mission needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Candidates must be eligible for a background investigation.
