Pre-Services Specialist

Responsibilities Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Pre-Services Specialist . The Pre-Services Specialist is responsible for taking inbound calls, making outbound calls, scheduling and pre-registering patients in the SMS and Cerner systems in a timely and accurate manner. The position also handles the collection of co‑pays and deductibles at the time of pre‑registration, and interprets managed care contracts, Medicare regulations, and medical/anatomy terminology to support scheduling and registration processes. Perform scheduling, pre‑registration and, if needed, insurance verification within 24 hours of receipt of reservation/notification for both inpatient and outpatient services Contact physicians to resolve issues regarding prior authorization or referral forms Research patient visit history to ensure compliance with the Medicare 72‑hour rule and complete the Medicare Secondary payer questionnaire and ABN as applicable Contact patients in a timely and courteous manner to confirm or obtain missing demographic information in Invision PDIX, quote/collect patient payment, and instruct patient on where to present at time of appointment Perform electronic eligibility confirmation using HDX and calling insurers when necessary Work with facility departments and internal CBO departments to investigate and resolve issues related to patients or insurers Act as a liaison to hospital departments to resolve issues and document accordingly Implement and follow system downtime procedures when necessary Other duties as assigned Benefits Challenging and rewarding work environment Competitive compensation and generous paid time off Excellent medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug plans 401© with company match and discounted stock plan SoFi student loan refinancing program Career development opportunities within UHS and its 300+ subsidiaries More information is available on our benefits guest website Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 1–3 years of healthcare experience preferred Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) Customer‑focused, strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, strong ten‑key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills Familiarity with pre‑registration and 1–3 years of healthcare business office experience preferred EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
