Work Environment This position operates in a fully remote capacity, providing flexibility for our counselors. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the potential for some schedule adjustments to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify patients' needs and collaboratively develop effective, personalized treatment plans. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, in individual, couple, and family sessions. Facilitate psychoeducational groups designed to educate patients about mental health issues and provide support networks. Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and ancillary staff to ensure an integrated and comprehensive care approach for patients. Respond to mental health crises with appropriate interventions, ensuring patients have the necessary support during emergencies. Educate patients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and available resources within the community. Maintain detailed, confidential documentation following all legal and ethical guidelines regarding patient care. Participate in ongoing professional development, including training sessions and workshops to stay current with best practices in mental health therapy. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will work with individuals, couples, and families, adapting your approach to meet their specific circumstances and cultural contexts. Qualifications A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field. Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, LCSW-R in the state of New York. Demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders and proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Ability to perform comprehensive mental health assessments to inform treatment planning. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient engagement. Strong commitment to ethical practice, including respect for professional boundaries. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital documentation processes. Preferred Experience Experience in providing both individual and group therapy to a varied client demographic. Previous involvement in crisis intervention and management of acute mental health situations. Background in the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other therapeutic modalities.
