Transitional Counselor

Transitional Counselor (Part-Time)Saturday & Sunday, 3pm–11pm (16 hours/week)BHcare is seeking a compassionate and motivated Transitional Counselor to support residents in our Young Adult Services program. This part-time role provides direct support, skill building, and counseling to help clients build independence, stability, and a higher quality of life.What You’ll Do:Assist with daily program operations and provide individualized support to residents.Help clients develop and implement recovery plans, reviewing progress regularly.Support independent living skills such as hygiene, meal planning, money management, and household responsibilities.Provide crisis assessment and intervention when needed, collaborating with clinical and emergency resources.Document services, maintain case records, and ensure accurate reporting.Facilitate connections to community resources, clinical services, vocational supports, and natural supports.Collaborate with nursing staff on medication needs.Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during scheduled shifts.What We’re Looking For:Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others.Ability to support clients with co-occurring disorders using trauma-informed, person-centered approaches.Reliable, flexible, and committed to maintaining a safe, supportive environment.Must remain awake and alert at all times during scheduled shifts.Valid driver’s license and willingness to provide transportation when needed.Why Join Us?At BHcare, you’ll make a meaningful difference in the lives of young adults as they work toward independence and long-term success. Must maintain an acceptable driving record and be insurable at a reasonable rate under the Organization’s auto insurance planMust be proficient in Microsoft 365.
