Schedule: Day Shift 7:00am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri; 1 Saturday a month 7:00am - 12:00pm No Holidays Overview Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more. Role Purpose Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection. Responsibilities Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times. Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
