Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A skilled pharmacist is needed for a contract-to-hire opportunity in a long-term care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy environment. This role offers a mid shift schedule from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with one weekend shift per month. The contract duration is approximately 13 weeks with potential for direct hire.

Location: New Berlin, WI
Shift: Mid Shift (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• One weekend per month

Key Responsibilities:

• Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring all legal requirements are met.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify any over-usage patterns.
• Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate for each patient’s condition.
• Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files effectively.
• Provide clear patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any queries.
• Offer consultations regarding prescription and over-the-counter medications, including dosage, storage, side effects, and interactions.
• Deliver patient-centered services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Instruct on proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for internal and external use, prepare sterile solutions adhering to established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, fostering a productive work environment.
• Manage the inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies accurately.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Valid Wisconsin pharmacy license.
• Previous pharmacy experience required.
• Long-term care pharmacy experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient in sterile compounding techniques.
