Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacist position is available with a focus on long-term care and mail order pharmacy environments. This role operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, second shift from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including one weekend per month. The position offers a 13-week contract with the possibility to convert to a direct hire role.

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with legal standards.
• Monitor patient medication usage, ensuring adherence and identifying overuse.
• Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
• Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy files meticulously.
• Provide patients with detailed advice about medications, including usage, potential side effects, and answers to questions.
• Offer consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications, focusing on storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for external and internal uses following proper protocols.
• Prepare sterile solutions in accordance with established procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies efficiently.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify and address drug-related issues affecting patients.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed pharmacist in Wisconsin.
• Pharmacy experience is required.
• Experience in long-term care pharmacy is highly advantageous.
• Competence in sterile compounding is essential.
