Senior Manager, HR Technology (Workday PATT)

Overview Labcorp is seeking a Senior Manager, HR Technology (Workday PATT) to lead the research, analysis, design, and implementation of configuration for payroll, absence, and time tracking practices. This role is responsible for system configuration, process automation, experience optimization, and ensuring the platform scales with business needs. The position can be remote, with hybrid in-office days for candidates located within 35 miles of Burlington or Durham, NC. Responsibilities Lead and manage future‑state design and process improvement projects focused on PATT (Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking) business functions, including architecture, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Workday configuration. Advise key stakeholders and partners on Workday PATT functionalities, providing technical support and best‑practice suggestions for configuration. Own and design system requirements and supporting business process changes by conducting gap analysis between business needs and Workday capabilities, performing regression testing when appropriate, and recommending solutions or enhancements. Collaborate with People Services, Payroll, Finance, and Total Rewards/Benefits teams to lead complex quarterly and cyclical projects, managing timelines, keeping stakeholders informed, gathering requirements, implementing solutions that comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and developing and executing end‑to‑end test plans. Support payroll‑impacting configuration changes made across other HR Tech workstreams (core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Absence, etc.) and integrations with other systems such as Labcorp’s Oracle ERP. Serve as workstream lead for Workday upgrades, collaborating with other HR functions and Workday Workstream Owners to plan for upgrade, build test scripts/UAT plans, perform testing and validation, and deploy new functionality. Work with M&A Lead to support new business acquisitions and ensure successful integration into the payroll system. Lead and perform Workday application control reviews and risk assessments to ensure compliance with segregation of duties, sensitive access, and user access security across the Payroll SKU. Own a documentation library for support processes that impact PATT, ensuring job aids and SOPs on system configuration and business process administration are up‑to‑date. Champion innovation opportunities by introducing, developing, or offering breakthrough products, services, or technology and staying abreast of Workday system releases and enhancements. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree 8+ years of experience in Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence or a comparable combination, including 4+ years of Workday experience. Hands‑on Workday experience developing and supporting end‑to‑end configuration across Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Talent Management, Absence, Time Tracking, and Payroll. Experience in all phases of the technology implementation lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, build, testing, and launch. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business groups and convey a vision or opinion. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a focus on detail and accuracy. Experience in project delivery, prioritizing decisions and tasks, and thriving in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in Workday reporting for Payroll/Financial Accounting and basic/intermediate integrations. Understanding of payroll processing, compliance, time‑tracking rules, and absence accruals. Knowledge of EIB processing, troubleshooting, and Workday security. Experience with the payroll processing lifecycle within Workday (pay inputs, calculations, retro processing, completion, settlement). Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with frequent change. Preferred Qualifications: Workday Core PRO certification. Compensation and Benefits Application Window: Open through 5/31/26 Pay Range: $140,000 - $170,000/yr (all offers based on skills, experience, and market data). The position is eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan, payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance. Benefits: Employees scheduled at least 20 hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), paid time off (PTO) or flexible time off (FTO), tuition reimbursement, and an employee stock purchase plan. Employees working 20 hours or fewer, casual, intern, or temporary staff are eligible to participate only in the 401(k) plan. Employees on a 7 on/7 off schedule receive all benefits except PTO/FTO.
