Senior-Level Trade Sanctions and Customs Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a senior-level associate attorney in Chicago, Illinois, with over six years of experience in U.S. trade law, focusing on export controls, sanctions, customs, supply chain, and national security-related areas. The role requires in-person attendance at the Chicago office. Duties Advise on regulatory matters, including compliance program reviews and enforcement investigations. Manage workstreams and support client relationships. Collaborate with cross-practice teams across multiple jurisdictions. Requirements Proactive and comfortable working independently. Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and cultures. Experience with AI tools is preferred. Major law firm experience is strongly preferred. Must be admitted and a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar or eligible to waive in. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications Admission to the Illinois Bar. Skills Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills. Ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
