Your Role as a Maintenance Supervisor: The ideal candidate is a self-starter operating independently, utilizing data to make decisions, proactively identifying opportunities, and can translate market intelligence into measurable business outcomes without requiring constant direction from senior leadership.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Continuously monitor our production processes to ensure quality standards are maintained and improved on.

· Continuously monitor our production processes to ensure that productivity is improving.

· Must acquire a detailed knowledge of our production processes, whether it be thermoforming or extrusion. Must be able to personally operate the machinery he/she is charge of so that he/she can better diagnose problems, make improvements, and train operators.

· Optimize machine settings. This means also documenting them and documenting proper procedures.

· Document quality specifications for the process.

· Hold periodic meetings with operators to improve training, productivity, and quality.

· Ensure that the equipment and tooling is up to date and in good working condition.

· Develop and oversee maintenance, whether they be corrective, preventive, or for process improvements.

· Develop and oversee the implementation of process improvements, whether they be achieved through machine settings, machine improvements, process improvements, or people development.

· Supervise and develop the operators and other personnel assigned to that area. This will be done in conjunction with the shift supervisors to make sure that personnel is supervised 24 hours a day.

· Train operators

· Test new materials and make sure incoming materials satisfy quality requirements.

· Recommend and develop capital equipment projects to add capacity in this area or improve the operation.

· Implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Total Preventive Maintenance, and Statistical Process Control.

· Constantly learn about technological developments related to their process.

· Coordinate with vendors and maintenance improvement projects.

General:

· To keep the production area clean and organized.

· Must ensure a safe work environment, resolve safety concerns, and report to the Plant Manager any safety concerns.

· Must ensure all hygiene procedures are followed, resolve hygiene concerns within the area, and report to the Plant Manager any hygiene concerns beyond his/her ability to resolve.

· Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency, quality, safety, and hygiene of the operation.

· Perform any activity necessary for the company to meet the needs of its customers.

· Schedule must be flexible in order to be able to spend time with all shifts, whether they are the week shifts, or the weekend shifts.

What We’re Looking For:

· Education: BS in engineering – Mechanical, electrical, materials, plastics, industrial, or chemical is highly desirable.

Experience:

1. Five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

2. Experience operating thermoforming or extrusion equipment is highly desirable.
