Accounting Manager

Title:  Accounting Manager
Company:  Construction Industry
Compensation:  $60-72/hr (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of three accounting professionals while overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process; review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, process improvements, internal controls, and accounting policies and procedures.
• Oversee payroll processing, payroll accounting, tax reporting, W-2/1099 filings, and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage accounts payable operations, including vendor payments, employee reimbursements, expense reporting, and vendor onboarding.
• Serve as the primary contact for external audits, coordinate audit support, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, AP, payroll, financial reporting, and external audits.
• Construction, engineering, project-based, or professional services industry experience preferred.
