Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. This full-time, onsite position provides a chance to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative educational community. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2027, you'll work alongside dedicated professionals to foster accessibility and independence for visually impaired learners.
Key Qualifications:
- Active certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in educational settings
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administration
- Adaptability to support varying student needs across floating assignments
- Commitment to promoting inclusive education and advocating for accessibility
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and instruction
- Assess student needs and develop individualized educational plans (IEPs) in coordination with teachers and specialists
- Implement assistive technologies and resources to empower student participation and achievement
- Offer guidance and support to school staff regarding best practices and accommodations for students
- Travel between sites as needed, given the floating nature of the role and caseload assignments
