Veterinary Assistant / Technician
$17 per hourCarlisle Veterinary Clinic
We are looking for a compassionate, hardworking Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician. If you love animals and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, procedures, surgeries and treatments
- Restrain and handle animals safely and calmly
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness/sanitation standards
- Monitor patients before, during and after procedures
- Take vitals, collect samples and assist with lab work
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Support receptionists and boarding staff as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Thrive in a team environment
- Reliable, punctual and detail oriented
- Prior veterinary or animal care experience preferred (not always required)
- Comfortable handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, especially in emergencies
