Line Cook

Job description

We are looking for a professional line cook who is organized and has solid experience as a prep/line cook.
Part time morning shift typically starts at 7.


Responsibilities
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Assist the kitchen team with daily prep lists, maintaining proper pars, and completing morning kitchen setup
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Ensure cross-training across all kitchen stations to provide support and maintain efficiency during peak hours
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions
• Support the dishwasher and FOH team as needed by bussing tables, clearing and washing dishes, and maintaining clean and organized dining and service areas
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Requirements
• Cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Ability and willingness to cross-train and work effectively across all kitchen stations
• Strong teamwork, communication, and willingness to assist both BOH and FOH teams as needed
• Serve Safe Certification a Plus
