Junior Engineer (Construction)

LOZIER, Inc. seeks to hire a Junior Engineer (Construction ) for a full-time, on-site role on a major NYCDDC project in Staten Island/Brooklyn, NY . This role oversees and coordinates daily construction inspection activities for pedestrian ramps, sidewalk, and related accessibility improvements to ensure work is performed in accordance with Federal 2020 and PROWAG specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities: Conduct field inspections to verify that construction activities conform to contract plans, specifications, approved materials, and applicable ADA accessibility requirements. Review construction drawings, specifications, standard details, and contract documents to support field inspection and identify potential issues or discrepancies. Assist the EIC/Resident Engineer with engineering investigations. Prepare and maintain accurate daily inspection reports, field notes, photographs, quantity records, punch lists, and other project documentation. Assist with coordination among the contractor, inspectors, engineering staff, utility representatives, and other project stakeholders. Participate in progress meetings, coordination meetings, contractor discussions, and site meetings as directed. Travel to various locations on the project site during the course of inspection Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering,. 0-3 years of experience in construction engineering, inspection, or transportation/infrastructure projects. ACI Concrete Field Testing - Grade I certification Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, details, and standard drawings. Working knowledge of ADA accessibility requirements, PROWAG specifications and pedestrian facility construction. Ability to maintain accurate daily inspection reports, photographs, measurements, quantity records, and punch lists. Strong communication skills and ability to work with contractors, inspectors, engineers, and agency representatives. OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety training.
