Supply Chain Manager Location: Lenexa, KS, US Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year Experience: Manager level Job Summary Responsible for all aspects of purchasing, production planning and scheduling, inventory and logistics within the International division and coordinates with other offices. Develops and executes plans to meet short‑term and long‑term supply‑chain management and production control requirements. Works independently and leads the Supply Chain Department, offering training and assistance to group members. Responsibilities Comply with all quality system procedures and work instructions. Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers: negotiate best prices, arrange favorable terms, resolve problems, develop resources for alternative suppliers, build a system to handle shortages and monitor market trends. Develop and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors: ensure specifications, testing, inventory control procedures are in place and assess vendor/subcontractor evaluations; verify production meets product specifications. Inventory control: proactively manage shortages, create and maintain inventory reports, coordinate return material and finished‑goods logistics with third‑party providers, track stock status and availability to support client orders and forecasts, procure materials to meet production schedules. Process client orders: review purchase orders for completeness and accuracy, coordinate timely processing or schedule changes, create and manage open‑order schedules, enter orders into the MRP/ERP system, plan and forecast all raw materials. Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools, stay informed of new technologies to reduce cost deficiencies, assist in cost reduction through re‑engineering. Work closely with R&D, QA and maintenance personnel to prevent product and tooling issues, determine and eliminate root causes of manufacturing errors, attend design reviews. Maintain database and standard cost evaluations/updates. Mentor others performing supply‑chain functions (order entry, returns, shipping, production scheduling, planning). Direct staffing, training and performance evaluations. Respond to project milestones and resolve financial project issues impacting project success. Hold approval authority for ECOs and temporary deviations; back up Manager Project Documentation (MPD). Use time effectively to set priorities and meet organizational and departmental goals. Perform additional duties as assigned. Supervise Sr. Supply Chain Specialist: interview, hire, train, assign work, appraise performance, reward and discipline, address complaints. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with five years work‑related supply‑chain experience, or equivalent experience. Advanced skills in problem solving, analytical thinking, data analysis, critical thinking, decision‑making and negotiating. Advanced knowledge of purchasing and inventory control principles. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi‑task effectively. Proficient with Microsoft Office products. Experience with production/inventory control and ERP/​MRP software. Excellent communication skills. Self‑starter capable of working under pressure with limited or no supervision.
