Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating warehouse shipping and receiving activities, maintaining accurate records, processing merchandise, resolving shipment issues, and supporting team operations while ensuring safety, efficiency, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify incoming shipments, packing slips, bills of lading, and inspect for visible damage; resolve discrepancies with suppliers, freight companies, and customers.
• Process, label, price, and distribute merchandise to appropriate sales or storage locations.
• Arrange returns to suppliers and deliveries to customers, ensuring complete shipping documentation and cost-effective transportation methods.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and department files.
• Calculate shipping and delivery costs and recommend efficient solutions.
• Monitor labor utilization, equipment usage, overtime, and downtime to ensure departmental cost-effectiveness.
• Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with company and ISO processes.
• Recommend and support operational improvements and maintain communication with leadership and project teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in shipping & receiving, inventory management, data entry, and warehouse material handling.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Work Environment

• Warehouse-based role.
• 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM.
• Occasional Saturdays (1-2 per month).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
