About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Clienttion Oncology Duration: 18 Weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8 Hours Experience: Minimum 3 Years License: Required RN License Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: - Outpatient Oncology Experience - Completed references must be in hand at time of submission - Must be able to float to other facilities Description: Parnassus FLOAT8 HR Days with Variable Starts. Required: CA RN License, AHA BLS. Minimum 3 years of experience in outpatient oncology. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with charting system is required. Charting system name: Epic. Community hospital experience is preferred. Must have travel experience. Certifications required: ACLS, APHON, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), CPHON, CPON, NIHSS, OCN, ONS/ONCC, PALS. Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Advanced directives, Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Antiemetics, Calling in prescriptions. Care and management of ports, Constipation/diarrhea, Corticosteroids, Dysphagia, External Beam Clienttion Therapy (Teletherapy). Fatigue/Energy level, Height/Weight, Hemorrhage, Image-Guided Clienttion Therapy (IGRT). Increased intracranial pressure, Inpatient oncology, Intensity Modulated Clienttion Therapy (IMRT). Internal Interstitial Brachytherapy, Internal Intracavitary Brachytherapy, Intraoperative Clienttion Therapy (IORT). Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV push narcotic agents, Medication tolerance/dependence assessment. Monitoring Chemotherapy, Monitoring of medication side effects, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy. Neutron Beam Therapy, Notification of physician to changes in patient status, Nutritional status, Opioids. Oral administration of chemotherapy, Oral cavity, Outpatient oncology. Palliative Clienttion Therapy, Pediatric oncology, Proton Beam Therapy, Clienttion Oncology. Clienttion safety precautions, Recognize/communicate abnormal lab values, Skin integrity, Spinal Cord Compression. Starting Peripheral IVs, Stereotactic Radiotherapy, Three-Dimensional Conformal Clienttion Therapy (3D-CRT). Total Body Irradiation, Tracheostomy care, Transdermal patches, Unsealed Radioactive therapy, Venipuncture. Withholding/withdrawing treatment, Wound assessment, Wound care. Unit Details: Patient Age Groups include Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics. Daily Census: Approximately 90. Special Procedures: HDR brachytherapy, Gamma knife radiosurgery. Interdisciplinary support includes Interpretation Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary. Patient Diagnoses include genitourinary cancers, gynecological cancers, head and neck cancers, breast cancer, GI cancers, central nervous system cancers, osteosarcomas, etc. Patient ratios and staffing details will be dependent on scheduling and needs. Travel may be required during the assignment. All time off must be disclosed at the time of submittal and requires approval. Please note that resources may be reassigned to different departments or units if they meet the job specifications. Teaching hospital experience is required. Modules will be completed pre-start and annually.
