Senior Affordable Housing Associate

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Senior Affordable Housing Associate in Portland, OR. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in affordable housing and a strong background in real estate transactions. This role involves working with a dynamic team to provide legal counsel on various real estate matters. Duties Manage the full lifecycle of affordable housing deals, including site control and due diligence. Draft and negotiate core deal documents such as development and partnership agreements. Coordinate with lenders, investors, and government agencies on complex transactions. Advise on HUD programs and state housing finance agency requirements. Handle preservation, resyndications, and rehabilitation projects. Requirements Six or more years of experience in affordable housing. Proficiency in LIHTC and tax-exempt bond financings. Experience with multi-party, multi-deadline transactions. JD and active bar membership in good standing. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Active bar membership. Skills Strong negotiation and drafting skills. Ability to manage complex transactions. Familiarity with HUD and state housing programs. Benefits Comprehensive training programs and retreats.
