Maintenance Tech

Maintenance Technician***POSITION LOCATED IN EMPORIA***This position is responsible for performing daily preventive maintenance tasks on various pieces of production equipment. In addition to maintenance tasks, this position will also perform repair tasks needed to keep the equipment operational. The maintenance technician will work closely with operational and management personnel to ensure all production equipment is kept in good condition and able to meet the company’s production needs. This position is required to be on-call at times for various service needs.Specific Responsibilities of the JobCreate a safe and secure work environmentPerform hands on maintenance and repair tasks on production equipment as requiredWork with management to minimize unnecessary downtimeAnalyze machine downtime to identify and correct mechanical problemsMaintain maintenance related recordsPerform facilities maintenanceAchieve goals and objectives that are set out each year by plant management.Contribute to ongoing improvements to throughput, inventory and operational expense.Abide by all company policies including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Company Employee HandbookEnsure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental LegislationRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThese requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this jobJob RequirementsBasic knowledge of maintenance functions. Detailed knowledge of Electrical, Controls, is desired, PLCs and/or HVAC troubleshooting is a plus.Ability to work independently and trouble shoot problems as they ariseFamiliar with state and federal OSHA regulationsHigh level of time management and organizational skillsStrong technical and problem solving skillsEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required, post secondary courses in related disciplines preferred1-3 Years experience in maintenance position desirable, but not required***POSITION LOCATED IN EMPORIA***Physical DemandsThese physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the jobWhile performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to lift up to 75 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Temperature in some of the production areas is controlled; however temperature on the production floor can range from mid fifty degrees in the winter to over one-hundred degrees in the summer.Salary/Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
