Travel Nursing Job Details

• End Date: February 15, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,480–$2,610
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; 36 hours per week
• Unit: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery
• Unit Capacity: 31 rooms and 31 beds
• Patient Volume: Approximately 15 patients per day and 500–600 deliveries per month
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Weekend coverage is required; holiday availability may be needed based on unit needs
• Floating: May float to Antepartum, Postpartum, Mother/Baby, or other areas where qualified; occasional floating to nearby sister campuses may be required

Travel Labor & Delivery RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; compact license must be in hand at submission when applicable
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• High-risk obstetric nursing experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Current BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and Epic charting
• Required ability to circulate for Cesarean sections
• Required ability to function as the newborn or “baby nurse” during delivery and continue newborn care through transfer to postpartum
• Competency with newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, eye care, vitamin K administration, security banding, and other routine newborn care
• Ability to work every other weekend and support holiday coverage as needed
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certification and ACLS are preferred

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients experiencing normal and high-risk labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum transitions
• Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and obstetric emergencies
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, operative deliveries, multiple births, and high-risk deliveries
• Circulate for Cesarean sections and support operative procedures in the Labor & Delivery operating rooms
• Serve as the newborn nurse during delivery and provide care until the newborn is transferred to postpartum
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, eye care, vitamin K injections, identification and security procedures, and other newborn interventions
• Manage and monitor therapies including magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, Pitocin, anticoagulation, antihypertensives, and epidural or general anesthesia care
• Provide antepartum, postpartum, and couplet-care support when floating to applicable units
• Support patients and families with education, breastfeeding or lactation support, pain management, and emotional care
• Document accurately in Epic while following evidence-based obstetric and fetal-monitoring practices
• Collaborate with obstetric providers, midwives, anesthesia professionals, neonatal clinicians, and the interdisciplinary care team
