Director, Finance (Operations)

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Director of Finance to lead operations finance for Lab Plastics Essentials, a $700M+ business unit. The role involves directing a finance team, partnering with global operations leadership, and ensuring financial controls and strategic decision support across manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead team of 7 direct reports with span of control of 20; serve as primary finance partner to VP Global Operations
- Oversee annual operating plan development, monthly actuals, and forecasting for global manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, and logistics
- Design and communicate early indicator metrics to senior management; identify operational improvement opportunities
- Own capital appropriation process and ensure alignment with financial commitments and company policies
- Drive continuous improvement and collaborate with quality, engineering, procurement, and other functions on operational efficiency
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting; MBA or CPA strongly desired
- 10+ years of progressive business and leadership experience
- Manufacturing background with GAAP and cost accounting expertise
- Experience in global, matrixed environments preferred
- FP&A or Controlling experience and strong financial systems knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead teams effectively
- Life Sciences industry experience desired but not required
