Family Medicine / Internal Medicine Physician Needed

Protean Med is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician for a full-time, outpatient primary care opportunity serving homeless and underserved communities in Atlanta, Georgia.

Location: Atlanta, GA

Position Type: Locum Tenens

Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM

Start Date: ASAP (December 2026 may be feasible)

EMR: Epic

Position Highlights

• Day shift with no scheduled nights or call
• Approximately 16 patients per day
• Mostly adult patient population
• Physician backup for calls handled by NPs
• No responsibility for supervising other healthcare providers
• Must be comfortable performing pelvic exams, Pap smears, and employment physicals
• Local candidates only

Requirements

• Board-Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active Georgia license or qualifying active IMLC with proof of LOQ at Name Clear
• Minimum 5 years of post-training experience
• BLS certification and DEA
• Graduation from a state-approved school with a specialty in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
• Current NPDB report on file, no more than 60 days old, at presentation
• Must confirm how many weekday shifts per month they can cover

Experience serving medically underserved, immigrant, and homeless populations is highly preferred. Experience in staff supervision or administration is also preferred.
