Account Specialist(Outside Sales)

Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking an Account Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll plan, implement, and execute target industry marketing programs and engage with engineers, maintenance, and purchasing teams using a consultative selling approach. Responsibilities Perform day-to-day review and processing of requisitions as assigned. Enter data orders into AIT’s and customer systems to obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and maintain blanket purchase orders. Evaluate and resolve changes in part numbers through MSSR function, manufacturers or changes to fit, form, and function; obtain customer approval prior to material receipt and notify of obsolete or discontinued items. Identify and remove duplicate stock codes or products. Maintain lead times for those items on the look ahead. Coordinate with service centers on weekly backlog and past-due reports. Expedite orders with service centers and customers. Provide product sourcing assistance and pursue products within scope of supply. Address problems related to notifications. Work directly with warehouse personnel and service centers to resolve receiving issues. Monitor and resolve all product warranty issues with the service center. Track cost savings achieved by Applied and document value added to customers. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field. 3 to 5 years of industry–related work experience. Proven experience developing new business, building repeat business, and managing a sales territory. Strong relationship‑building skills at all levels with customers and prospects. Hands‑on product demonstrations for customers and prospects; mechanical aptitude. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Preferred Experience in applied product areas such as bearings, power transmission components, fluid power, or industrial supplies.
