About the Opportunity: Entry-Level Construction Estimator | 0-2 Years Experience The Axel Group is partnering with a growing specialty commercial contractor in Houston seeking a Junior Estimator to join its Preconstruction team. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate, construction intern, or early-career professional with 0-2 years of experience looking to build a career in construction estimating. The company specializes in outdoor and specialty commercial construction, including pools, water features, hardscape, site amenities, shade structures, and specialty exterior environments, serving multifamily, hospitality, public, and mixed-use markets. Responsibilities Assist with quantity takeoffs and preparing project estimates Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents Research material, subcontractor, and supplier pricing Assist with soliciting and leveling subcontractor proposals Help prepare bid and proposal packages Document assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, and alternates Identify scope gaps and potential cost issues Maintain accurate estimating files and pricing information Work closely with Estimators, Preconstruction, Operations, vendors, and subcontractors Qualifications 0-2 years of construction, estimating, or preconstruction experience Construction-related internship or co-op experience is a plus Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Mathematics, or related field preferred Ability to read and understand basic construction drawings Basic understanding of construction means and methods Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Why Consider This Opportunity Exposure to commercial and specialty construction projects Opportunity to learn directly from experienced Preconstruction professionals Clear path for career growth within estimating and preconstruction Competitive Houston-market compensation based on experience #J-18808-Ljbffr The Axel Group, LLC
