Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Candidates must have experience in a general medical surgical floor, stroke care, and neuro designated units. Description: General comments about the unit include that it has a maximum capacity of 43 patients with typically 34 beds available. The unit is staffed with 1 charge nurse, 8 registered nurses, and 3 techs during the day shift, and 1 charge nurse, 8 registered nurses, 1 tech, and 1 unit secretary during the night shift at maximum capacity. The patient ratio is 5:1. The type of equipment includes remote telemetry and uses Meditech as the EMR system. Most recruited candidates are travel registered nurses, local CNAs, and sitters. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for the role. Preferred certifications include NIH Stroke certification and ACLS. The unit performs typical procedures related to general medical-surgical care. The best personality fit for this team is upbeat, engaged, and compassionate. The dress code requires navy scrubs. The unit has received multiple awards and recognitions, including Daisy awards, is stroke certified, and has maintained a CAUTI-free status for over 850 days.
