The Registered Behavior Technician will have the opportunity to practice under the close, ongoing supervision of a BCBA. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:

• Under the direction of the Director of Exceptional Student Services and supervised directly by the district Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the Behavior Technician will be part of a district behavior team.
• Will meet and collaborate with the team on a regular basis to develop action steps to address students' behavioral needs district wide.
• Under the direction of the BCBA, work with paraprofessionals one-on-one and in small groups to provide training as needed.
• Assist the BCBA in conducting district in-services, training all relevant staff on the implementation of proactive behavioral strategies.
• Observe student behavior in order to implement appropriate positive behavioral interventions.
• Collect ABC data in collaboration with other staff to inform a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) (when necessary) and follow up with a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).

The RBT reports to the site administrator. The RBT will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.
