Social Media Strategist & Content Creator

Reports to: Director of Brand & Creative Employment Type: Full-Time Employee or Full-Time 1099 Contractor Location: Remote, with California-based candidates preferred Compensation: $80,000–95,000, DOE Team: Brand & Creative About the Role Musely is looking for a Social Media Strategist & Content Creator to own and grow our organic presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This is a hands-on role for someone who is both a strategist and a maker . You’ll lead our organic social strategy while concepting, planning, producing, and shooting photo and video content. We have in-house designers and video editors to support execution, but this role must be able to independently take content from idea through capture. Strong photography and videography skills and experience planning and executing photoshoots are essential. What You’ll Do Own Musely’s organic social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Build and manage the content calendar, balancing campaigns, recurring content, cultural moments, and reactive opportunities. Develop social-first concepts and formats that grow reach, engagement, community, and brand awareness. Plan and execute photo and video shoots , including concepts, shot lists, creative direction, talent, locations, props, and production logistics. Shoot high-quality photography and short-form video using both professional equipment and mobile devices. Direct patients, doctors, executives, talent, and team members on camera. Handle lightweight editing and partner with our in-house designers and video editor for more complex production. Stay deeply immersed in social trends, internet culture, DTC brands, beauty, health, wellness, and longevity. Track performance, identify creative learnings, and continuously evolve the strategy. Who You Are You’re both a strategist and a hands-on content creator . You have a strong visual point of view and excellent photography and videography skills. You know how to create content that feels native to social, from polished brand storytelling to quick, culturally relevant content. You have experience independently planning and running photoshoots from pre-production through capture. You’re comfortable directing both professional and non-professional talent. You have strong creative instincts and proactively find stories, trends, and opportunities rather than waiting for a brief. You move quickly, stay highly organized, and can manage an always-on social presence alongside larger shoots and campaigns. Required Experience 5+ years of experience in social media, content creation, brand marketing, or a related role. DTC brand experience required , preferably in beauty, health, wellness, skincare, or an adjacent category. Experience developing and executing organic social strategy for a consumer brand. Demonstrated experience planning and executing photoshoots. Strong portfolio of photography and video work you personally shot or produced. Experience creating short-form video for Instagram and TikTok. Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Comfortable with professional cameras and mobile-first production. Basic video editing skills required; design or motion skills are a plus. Nice to Have Experience in beauty, wellness, or telehealth. Experience creating content with doctors, experts, patients, founders, or executives.
