We are conducting a search for a Chief Accounting Officer with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed manufacturer in the Greater Cleveland area. This is a newly created leadership role focused on transforming and scaling the corporate accounting and controllership function across a multi-brand, multi-site organization.

The Opportunity

• $220K-$250K base + 20-25% bonus
• Greater Cleveland, OH | Primarily onsite, with some hybrid flexibility
• Lead a 14-person accounting organization with ~10 direct/indirect reports
• Partner closely with the CFO, executive leadership, operations, IT, auditors, PE sponsor, and lenders
• Drive accounting transformation following significant organic growth and acquisition activity
• Lead close optimization, process standardization, automation, and internal control enhancements
• Oversee ERP modernization and rationalization across a complex multi-ERP environment
• Support acquisition integration, purchase accounting, lender reporting, and broader financial transformation
• Relocation assistance available

ERP / Systems Environment

The company currently operates across five ERP platforms, including Sage 500, NetSuite, NAV, Exact Global, and QAD, and is evaluating a future-state ERP strategy, with Microsoft Dynamics 365 currently under consideration.

Ideal Background

• 15+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience
• Active CPA required
• Current or recent Controller, CAO, VP Accounting, or Director-level leadership experience
• Strong technical accounting and U.S. GAAP expertise
• Demonstrated success transforming a controllership function and improving the close
• Hands-on ERP implementation, upgrade, rationalization, and/or automation experience
• Strong cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing experience
• Manufacturing, industrial, automotive, distribution, or another inventory-intensive environment strongly preferred
• PE-backed and/or acquisitive company experience highly preferred
• Big Four foundation combined with industry leadership experience is a plus
• Proven ability to build, develop, and elevate accounting teams
