Terwilliger Habitat Restoration Volunteer

Portland Parks & Recreaction provides equitable access to welcoming places, programs, and services that improve community health and the environment, focusing on making parks safe, accessible, and responsive to diverse community needs through stewardship, equity, safety, and fostering well-being for all residents. About the Project Join Portland Parks & Recreation and Friends of Terwilliger to enhance habitat in the Terwilliger Parkway wildlands. Together we will remove noxious weeds, including English ivy, clematis and Himalayan/Armenian blackberry. We will also plant native plants at select winter events. By removing invasively growing, non-native plant species and planting a diversity of native plants, we support wildlife habitat and prevent erosion and water runoff. Please bring your own water bottle, wear closed toe shoes, and dress for the weather. Instructions, tools, and gloves will be provided. For the safety of staff and other volunteers, please stay home if you are feeling sick. An exact meeting location will be emailed to registered volunteers the day before the event. Project Requirements Age: Volunteers must be 6 years of age or older to attend this project; volunteers under 16 must either attend with a parent/adult, or bring a waiver.
