Plumbing Instructor (Part-time) The Plumbing Instructor (Part‑time) is responsible for providing quality skills instruction to our construction trades students through seated and practical hands‑on/lab courses. The Instructor is responsible for providing one‑on‑one and whole group instruction so that students are able to acquire the skills expected to be employed in the plumbing industry. This position will remain open until filled. Requirements High school diploma NC Plumbing Licensure Level 1 and Level 2 required; Level 3 preferred Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a plumber (hands‑on) in commercial or residential Working Conditions Classroom, lab, or shop environment Frequent standing and walking to monitor student progress Some lifting of materials pertaining to lab projects Duties Must be able to interpret construction plans Learn and use technology, when appropriate, to enhance teaching and the educational experience Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students' needs Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students Encourage the development of communication skills and higher-order thinking skills through appropriate assignments Develop instructional materials in accordance with course objectives Develop supplemental materials and/or visual aides to enhance textbook learning Maintain accurate records of student progress and submit final grade rosters to the division administrator each semester according to established deadlines Stay current through the certifying organizations and attending professional meetings, conferences or workshops Lenoir Community College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
