Position Title: Maintenance Machinist —Aircraft Landing Gear & Component Overhaul

Pay Range: $29.78 – $34.87/hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

STi is seekingexperienced Maintenance Machinists tosupport the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) and Ogden Air Logistics Complex(OO-ALC) under the Depot On-Site ContractAugmentee Teams 5 (DOCAT5) Task Order at Hill Air Force Base, Utah.

This effort supportsthe 532nd Commodities Maintenance Squadron(CMMXS) within the 309th CommoditiesMaintenance Group (CMXG) . Personnel will support depot-level aircraftsustainment operations focused on the repair, overhaul, fabrication,restoration, modification, and precision machining of aircraft landing gearcomponents, wheels, brakes, and related aircraft assemblies.

The ideal candidatehas hands-on machine shop experience, strong blueprint and technical drawinginterpretation skills, and experience operating conventional and/or CNCequipment in a manufacturing, maintenance, repair, overhaul, or depotenvironment. This role is well-suited for machinists with aerospace, militarymaintenance, depot repair, landing gear, precision component repair, orclose-tolerance machining experience.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilitiesinclude:

· Interprettechnical orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, workinstructions, and written guidance to plan machining operations.

· Set up and operatemachine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, ComputerNumerical Control (CNC) equipment, and related machine tools.

· Fabricate,restore, modify, and repair aircraft landing gear components and relatedassemblies.

· Supportdepot-level overhaul and repair operations involving aircraft landing gear,wheels, brakes, hydraulic systems, pneudraulic systems, and related aircraftcomponents.

· Perform machiningcomputations involving dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, toolingrequirements, and material requirements.

· Use machinist handtools and precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with engineeringspecifications and close-tolerance requirements.

· Select appropriatematerials, parts, tooling, equipment, and machining methods required tocomplete assigned work.

· Fit, assemble, andverify proper function of machined components within aircraft landing gearsystems and assemblies.

· Apply knowledge ofcommon metals, material properties, machining processes, and aircraft componentrepair standards.

· Ensure allmachining work complies with applicable technical orders, safety requirements,quality standards, and local operating procedures.

· Maintain a clean,safe, and organized work area in accordance with Air Force, OSHA, and shopsafety requirements.

· Coordinateeffectively with Government supervisors, inspectors, engineers, work leads, andmaintenance personnel to support production schedules and mission requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

U.S. Citizenshiprequired. Active Secret clearance required at start.

· Formal machinistapprenticeship, vocational training, military technical training, or equivalentcombination of education and experience.

· Experienceoperating conventional and/or CNC machine tools in a manufacturing,maintenance, repair, overhaul, machine shop, or depot environment.

· Ability to readand interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals,specifications, and written work instructions.

· Experience usingmachinist hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and standard machineshop equipment.

· Ability to performmachining calculations involving dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds,tooling, and material requirements.

· Knowledge ofcommon metals, material properties, and machining processes.

· Ability tofabricate, restore, modify, repair, fit, assemble, or verify metal parts andmechanical components.

· Ability to worksafely in an industrial, depot, production, or military maintenanceenvironment.

· Ability to followtechnical orders, safety requirements, quality standards, and workinstructions.

· Ability tocoordinate professionally with Government and contractor maintenance teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior experiencesupporting Hill AFB, Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Air Force Sustainment Center,309 CMXG, 532 CMMXS, or comparable Air Force depot maintenance environments.

· Experiencemachining, repairing, or overhauling aircraft landing gear, wheels, brakes,hydraulic components, pneudraulic components, or aerospace mechanicalassemblies.

· Experience workingin an aerospace, defense, military, aviation, MRO, or depot-level maintenanceenvironment.

· Experience withclose-tolerance machining for aircraft, military, industrial, ormission-critical components.

· Experienceoperating lathes, mills, grinders, CNC machines, and precision measurementequipment.

· Experience withtechnical orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, processspecifications, and quality inspection requirements.

· Prior militaryaircraft maintenance, aircraft component repair, machine shop, manufacturing,or precision machining experience.

· Strong attentionto detail, safety discipline, quality awareness, and ability to meet productiontimelines in a regulated maintenance environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Work will beperformed on-site at Hill Air Force Base, Utah .

· Support will beprovided within depot-level maintenance and commodities repair environmentssupporting the 532nd CMMXS landing gear, wheels, brakes, and overhaul mission.

· Work may occur inmachine shop, production, industrial, depot, hangar, or maintenance work-centersettings.

· Personnel may berequired to use PPE and comply with applicable safety, tool control, quality,and technical publication requirements.

· Personnel must beable to work in a hands-on maintenance and machining environment requiringstanding, walking, bending, lifting, use of tools, and work around aircraftcomponents and industrial equipment.

· Shift schedulesmay include day shift, swing shift, or schedule changes based on missionrequirements.
