Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health)

Registered Nurse (RN) Shift Details 1st shift: 5am - 3pm, Wednesday through Saturday Days off: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday Work Environment All-male facility located in a single building with two floors. Frequent stair climbing and descending required. Job Responsibilities Provide nursing care within a corrections medical center, including: Conducting rounds and evaluating care needs and services rendered Developing care plans and educating on health care principles Administering medications, including narcotics Delivering direct nursing care as needed Performing specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, wound care, oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, intubation, CPR, tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy Organize and lead the 'code blue' team. Supervise health care staff including hospital aides and licensed practical nurses assigned to the area. Act as lead nurse during assigned shifts in the absence of higher-level nursing staff. Assist physicians with diagnostic health evaluations. Administrative and Clerical Duties Chart and record all medications, treatments, and relevant medical information Complete required reports such as incident and accident reports Document Medicaid information Order supplies and equipment Maintain accurate inventory of all controlled drugs, medications, and equipment Arrange outpatient clinic appointments and medical examinations by physicians Coordinate new and refill prescriptions through local pharmacies Perform administrative tasks and serve as liaison within the organization Conduct or attend meetings as required Occasionally serve as an instructor Participate as a member or leader of problem-solving teams or groups #J-18808-Ljbffr
