Job Summary: Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care. Responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice, and promoting cooperation among the health care team. This position is represented by CNA.

Essential Functions: Assures patients personal needs are met. Assist in reducing noise level of nursing unit. Shows a commitment to co-workers. Works as a team to assure all patients have their needs met. Maintains patient, co-worker, and hospital privacy. Documentation is clear, concise, and legible. Delivers a clear, concise report. Completes all assigned quality monitors as directed by department manager. Follows infection control guidelines. Obtains history/physical assessment according to unit specific nursing protocol for all age groups. Reviews medical history, physical examination, and all available assessment data. Identifies abnormal diagnostic data and reports to appropriate person. Provides information needed to begin discharge planning in a timely manner, and to the appropriate personnel. Recognizes signs and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress, or other impending emergencies. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to effectively function in Code Blue and other emergency situations. Accurately administers and charts medications according to hospital policies and procedures using patients 6 rights. Implements and/or assists others in implementation and documentation of planned education. Assesses patients educational needs.
