Emergency Room TechnicianRegions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking an Emergency Room Technician to join our Emergency Department. Under the immediate direction of the nurse, ERTs performs non-professional nursing care tasks for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and other duties deemed necessary to provide an environment conducive to patient care.As an Emergency Room Technician, you will perform delegated patient care functions, safely, effectively, timely and efficiently, based on the age and culturally specific needs of the patient populations on the unit served.Communicates effectively with patients and families.Demonstrates effective, collaborative working relationships with other health care team members and across the organization.Participates as an effective unit and nursing department member.Maintains and updates clinical knowledge.Work Schedule: 3 pm-11:30 pm flex every other weekendRequired QualificationsHigh School degree or equivalent required, plus at least one of the following: Graduate of a nursing assistant programGraduate of an Emergency Medical Technician training programExperience in an acute care or long-term care setting as a Nursing Assistant (minimum 2080 hours worked experience)Experience as an Emergency Room Tech or Emergency Dept Tech (minimum 2080 hours worked experience)Current EMT certification (MN and/or National)Current Nursing Assistant certification (MN)Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers) required upon start of employment.Preferred QualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing assistant program or Emergency Medical Technician training programRecent work experience in an acute care or hospital setting as a Nursing Assistant or as an Emergency Room Tech/Emergency Dept TechEMT or Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
