Job Purpose

This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality control of spare parts used in dies, molds, and other manufacturing equipment across Honda’s automobile powertrain plants in North America. It involves performing precise measurements on a wide range of components using advanced techniques such as coordinate measuring machine (CMM), laser scanning, and hand tools. The role delivers accurate and well-documented results for recordkeeping and future analysis, while also managing calibration schedules and logistics for all quality control measurement tools. As needed, the position provides emergency support to help maintain production stability and collaborates with suppliers to resolve quality-related issues.

Key Accountabilities

• Programs/operates Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), laser scanning, and hand tools to measure/confirm spare parts quality for dies, molds, and other equipment
• Generates accurate and concise reports of quality measurements for easy evaluation
• Manages schedules and logistics for calibration of quality control measurement tools
• Proactively looks for/identifies potential improvement to measurement process and quality
• Provides emergency quality control inspection support to production as needed
• Responsible for quality control inspection schedule for spare parts and sets priority based on customer needs
• Serves as main point of contact for parts suppliers on certification issues
• Leads all metrology related investigations for equipment upgrades, replacements, and new technologies

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

• Polyworks training, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing training (GD&T), Camio LK programming training, Quality Assurance training

Minimum Experience:

• 5 or More Years of Related Experience in Quality, Tool & Die field, or qualifying degree

Other Job-Specific Skills:

• Effective communication, independently able to develop project plans and exercise judgement based on substantial experience and knowledge. 
• Blueprint reading, coordinate measuring machine (CMM) & laser scanning operation, Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

• 90% working within climate-controlled environment / 10% hands-on in a manufacturing environment
• Work occasionally involves manufacturing floor investigation & Production line side investigative support
• Occasional overtime weekly (sometimes more), weekend/shutdown activity as needed to complete project requirements.
