Employment Litigation Associate

Job Overview We’re a national employment law firm with over 25 offices and more than 450 attorneys. Our attorneys practice before state and federal courts and administrative agencies across the US. We are looking for an experienced Litigation Associate with 3‑6 years of experience to join our team. Job Details Salary: $200,000—$220,000 per year. Permanent position. Applicants must be admitted in DC and Maryland. Responsibilities Represent clients in all stages of employment litigation, including pre‑litigation, discovery, motions, trials, and appeals. Draft and respond to discovery requests. Draft and argue motions. Defend depositions and take depositions. Manage discovery and prepare cases for trial. Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations. Provide advice and counsel to clients regarding state and federal employment laws. Keep up to date with developments in employment law and advise clients accordingly. Collaborate with other attorneys in the firm to ensure the best representation for clients. Qualifications A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Admission to the DC and Maryland bars. Minimum of 3‑6 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on employment law. Proven experience as a case‑handling attorney in federal court. Extensive experience in drafting and responding to discovery, drafting and arguing motions, defending depositions, and managing discovery. Proven experience in taking depositions, arguing motions, and participating in mediations. Thorough understanding of state and federal employment laws. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to manage a large caseload and work independently.
