We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role involves efficiently managing product orders, receiving deliveries, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the company. The position requires effective scheduling of large shipments, maintaining accurate records, and handling any issues related to shipping or inventory.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them, and distributing packages and letters within the company.
• Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff availability to manage the shipments.
• Prepare regular shipping and receiving reports for managers to keep records of goods shipped and received.
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
• Place merchandise in warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, and operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
• Experience in general labor, visual inspection, quality check, production, quality control, and quality assurance.
• Ability to perform final inspection and assembly tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using ERP software, preferably Plex.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Forklift certification and ability to drive a forklift daily.
• Basic math skills including counting, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good eyesight with depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to differentiate colors.
• Ability to multi-task and remain on feet all day.
• Capability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Great attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, energy, and effort.
• Consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter.

Work Environment

This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with frequent interaction with production, quality, and logistics teams. We emphasize safety, accuracy, and reliability. The work hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Byron Center, MI.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
