Park Maintenance Supervisor 2 - Cook Forest State Park

THE POSITION The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is seeking a Park Maintenance Supervisor 2 who is ready to lead and make a difference. This role supports the daily operations of park areas, keeping facilities running smoothly and projects on track. Take pride in a position that supports outdoor recreation and public enjoyment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will oversee maintenance, construction, and equipment operations across the Cook Forest and Clear Creek State Park Complex. You will ensure safe, efficient work practices while guiding staff and supporting park needs. Responsibilities include: Crew Supervision: Lead maintenance and trade staff in construction, facility care, and equipment operation Project Planning: Prepare sketches, determine needs, and organize resources for park construction projects Safety Oversight: Maintain Right to Know records, conduct training, and ensure safe work practices Equipment Management: Oversee operation and upkeep of automotive and heavy equipment Administrative Tasks: Complete reports, manage time sheets, and maintain inventory records WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Full‑time employment Work hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 30‑minute lunch Work weeks: 37.5 hours over 5 days, may include weekends and holidays Telework: Not available Salary: Starting salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases QUALIFICATIONS One year of experience as a Park Maintenance Supervisor 1 (or equivalent) Five years of semi‑skilled maintenance or construction experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical trades, water or wastewater treatment, or operation of small/medium construction or agricultural equipment Equivalent combination of experience and training Active motor vehicle license Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement Must be able to perform essential job functions Conditional offer will require submission of criminal history reports The Commonwealth is an equal employment opportunity employer and is committed to a diverse workforce.
