• Improving site-wide search and recommendations so practitioners can find relevant technical content quickly.

• Migrating and modernizing key areas of wwt.com onto an upgraded Nuxt application, improving page performance, accessibility, and maintainability.

• Developing personalization features that tailor content and calls to action based on a visitor's interests and history.

• Partnering with SEO and analytics stakeholders to instrument the site and turn engagement data into product decisions.

• Applying AI and LLM-based capabilities to site experiences, such as content summarization, semantic search, and automated content quality checks.

• Strengthening the platform underneath the site - CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and Core Web Vitals - so releases are frequent and low-risk.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Full Stack Developer on the team, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and delivering quality software that is thoughtful and maintainable. Your primary focus will be developing new features leveraging JavaScript, NodeJS, and Vue.js. You will own solutions from development through to production, tackle emerging issues as they arise, and offer technical and process guidance. You will also play a technical leadership role within the team, mentoring other developers to help ensure the team is high-performing and healthy.

Responsibilities:

• Build functional software and deliver technical solutions that consistently exceed stakeholder expectations using web and AI technologies.

• Ensure software and solutions scale well, are cost-effective, and adhere to software development best practices.

• Provide technical and professional mentoring for team members, and help identify and scope work for others on the team.

• Lead small projects and complex assignments with broad and ambiguous scope.

• Devise and deliver creative solutions to complex business and technical problems, taking a technology-agnostic approach and leading others in the use of new techniques.

• Own the solution from development through to production, including troubleshooting effectively under pressure.

• Write thoughtful code that is maintainable and efficient, delivering high quality with limited rework.

• Understand the big picture across wwt.com and identify problems, risks, and improvement opportunities before they become issues.

• Interact directly with stakeholders to understand functional requirements and needs.

• Demo solutions and present to groups of peers, and communicate status to stakeholders at all levels.

• Participate in ideation sessions and strategic planning. Help foster a team-first environment grounded on an understanding of and a commitment to the WWT Core Values.

Qualifications:

• Passionate about software development and delivering large and/or complex solutions in an iterative process.

• 5+ years of experience in web development technologies such as:

• Vue, Angular, or React

• JavaScript/NodeJS

• Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB

• Possess a solid understanding of Agile principles.

• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) for both a technical and non-technical audience. Comfortable presenting to groups of peers.

• Independent execution. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Thorough understanding of what it takes to deliver an application from inception to production, and comfortable owning it end to end.

• Demonstrated track record of high-quality delivery with limited rework.

• Consistent ability to devise and deliver creative solutions to complex business and technical problems, and to troubleshoot effectively under pressure.

• Comfortable mentoring other developers and helping identify tasks for others.

• Experience leading a small project or workstream.

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in computer science; A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Nuxt or another server-side rendering framework.

• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features, such as semantic search, summarization, or retrieval-augmented generation.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling and how to use it responsibly.

• Experience with web performance, accessibility (WCAG), or SEO fundamentals in a high-traffic consumer-facing site.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of the salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $106,400 to $133,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in the base pay.
