Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for providing care to ER patients utilizing the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership skills to ensure safe patient care delivery. The RN will maintain clinical competency through ongoing education and supervise the patient care provided by assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care decisions.
• Delegate patient care priorities according to staff education and experience levels.
• Provide direction and supervision of nursing and support staff delivering patient care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and state regulations.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Emergency Department.

Certifications/Licensure

• Must hold a valid SC RN license or multi-state RN license.
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (American Heart Association).
